Small but perfectly formed

A very short cycle path
David Smith

As part of the recent Metrobus works, South Gloucestershire Council allocated a budget of £742.32 to create cycle facilities. The engineers should be applauded for realising the importance of good quality design and attention to detail, rather than spreading the money too thinly on a longer, but poor quality facility.

The entrance to path is perfectly flush, with double yellow lines to prevent it being obstructed by parked vehicles. The surface is of good quality ensuring a smooth ride over the entire 2m length. The end of the path is clearly marked; protecting cyclists from a potential fine should they inadvertently continue to ride illegally on the footway it leads to.
