Small but perfectly formed

A very short cycle path
David Smith

As part of the recent Metrobus works, South Gloucestershire Council allocated a budget of 742.32 to create cycle facilities. The engineers should be applauded for realising the importance of good quality design and attention to detail, rather than spreading the money too thinly on a longer, but poor quality facility.

The entrance to path is perfectly flush, with double yellow lines to prevent it being obstructed by parked vehicles. The surface is of good quality ensuring a smooth ride over the entire 2m length. The end of the path is clearly marked; protecting cyclists from a potential fine should they inadvertently continue to ride illegally on the footway it leads to.
