A Short Colourful Cycle Path

short, green and absolutely useless

This cycle path on the Gemini Link Road may be short, but it is packed with interest. Those cyclists who find riding on smooth black tarmac a bit boring can cross a dropped kerb at a tangent, dive under a road sign and enjoy riding on 15m of green tarmac, before giving way to a set of grey ridged tiles. The route then samples a few cm of black tarmac, crosses some knobbly beige tiles and runs into a side road. This path provides a useful short-cut that reduces the journey of left turning cyclists by nearly 2m.

This site is dedicated to highlighting examples of how innovative design and outstanding engineering offer safety, utility, and comfort to cyclists. If you know of a cycle facility worthy of inclusion on this site, either within Warrington or beyond, then send a photo (jpg) and short description to Pete Owens.
