No expense was spared when constructing the Birchwood to Sankey Way cycle route. Going beyond the technocratic remit to provide a transport link, Warrington Borough Council are attempting to create social bonds by engineering romantic encounters between cyclists from opposite ends of the town as they pass though this kissing gate at the midway point of the route.
