The Cornish Way

Cycletrack with a bollard
Andrew

The start of this 50m cycle path, part of Route 3 of the National Cycle Network in Penzance, demonstrates the importance of a well designed junction with the carriageway. The surface transition is prefectly flush, there are no sharp turns and there is a gentle slope to bring cyclists up to the level of the track. In fact, if it wasn't for the bollard placed right in the middle of the cycleway you wouldn't realise it was a cycle facility at all.
