This photo shows the merit of model car racing in encouraging young people to enter the profession of highway engineering. This nifty facility on St Mary's Bridge in Doncaster was clearly inspired by a crossover section from a Scalextric set.

Cyclists who prefer a little less excitement have the option of staying on the road, which is closed to cars.
