Round the Bend

Kerbed cycle lane goes round a blind bend straight into some parked cars

Illegal parking on cycle lanes can be a serious problem, especially in cases where cyclists may be approaching around a blind corner. In this example on King William Street, Swindon council have carefully arranged bollards and kerbing to ensure that motor vehicles cannot encroach the cycle lane itself, but are restricted to the marked parking spaces that block the cycle lane's exit.
